Taken from Lollar website:

“Featuring a pre-CBS 1960s Strat®-style wind, our Vintage Blackface® Strat pickups give you a classic Strat tone with full body and punch. The overall tone has a prominent midrange, clear treble, and full bass with a well-defined, piano-like attack. We use scatter wound wax potted coils with Alnico 5 magnets degaussed to vintage 60s Strat pickup specs and flat-poles for added presence. Includes medium output with vintage style cloth covered lead wire. Middle is RWRP for humbucking operation in positions 2 and 4. “

1 review for Lollar Vintage Blackface ® for Stratocaster

You can't go wrong with them! I've converted to the lollar camp! I bought a mixed set fit into a '62 inspired strat: blonde (neck), blonde (mid), blackface (bridge) and a full blackface set (fit into an American Std strat) These pickups never disappoint. The blackfaces are slightly hotter and have more mids than the blondes, yet they still retain a good, balanced vintage tonality: sweet and woody. Chords ring out clearly and respond extremely well to your touch. Driven, lead lines cut through the band without being over-bearing or harsh. You can comp some great blues, rock and funk tones with this... really versatile! The pickups generally have a nice piano-like attack to them. The 2 and 4 pickup positions have a stronger quack to them than the blondes, yet they still sound pleasant. Fit these into your guitars, set your amp and you're ready to go!
